Normandy, 1627

John Eudes was a French priest when plague struck his region.1

He cared for the dying, and to avoid infecting his brothers he lived for a time in a large cask in a field.1

He went on to preach more than a hundred parish missions.

Patronage No official patronage we can cite yet. The Church remembers him as an apostle of the Hearts of Jesus and Mary.

He wrote liturgical texts in honor of the Hearts of Jesus and Mary, before the visions of Margaret Mary.1

He founded a community of sisters to care for women leaving prostitution.1
