The Visitation convent of Paray-le-Monial, 1673

Margaret Mary was sickly as a child and joined the Visitation Sisters at Paray-le-Monial.1

Her sisters thought her odd, and her superiors doubted her.1

Jesus appeared to her and showed her His Heart, burning with love for people who ignored Him.

Patronage No official patronage we can cite yet. The Church remembers her as the apostle of the Sacred Heart.

The Sacred Heart

He asked for Holy Communion on the first Friday of each month and a feast of the Sacred Heart.1

A Jesuit, St. Claude de la Colombière, believed her, and the devotion spread through the whole Church.1
