Can we trust the Gospels?
The Church holds firmly that the four Gospels, “whose historicity she unhesitatingly affirms,” faithfully hand on what Jesus really did and taught. CCC 126 They are the heart of all the Scriptures, our principal source for His life and teaching. CCC 125

What Catholics believe, on one page
A creed is a summary of the principal truths of the faith and a sign of recognition and communion between believers. CCC 188 Its three parts follow Baptism in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. CCC 189 CCC 190
Common fears
The Church teaches that the act of faith is of its very nature a free act, and that nobody is to be forced to embrace the faith against his will. CCC 160 Believing is contrary neither to human freedom nor to human reason. CCC 154
