Vercelli, northern Italy, the 4th century

Eusebius was the first bishop of Vercelli in northern Italy.1

He had his clergy live with him in community, praying and working together.1

When he refused to condemn Athanasius, the emperor exiled him to Palestine and beyond.

Patronage No official patronage we can cite yet. The Church remembers him as a bishop who lived in community with his clergy and defended the Faith.

He was mistreated in exile, and returned years later to help heal the Church in Italy.1
