Paris, 1856

Peter Julian was a poor boy from the French Alps who became a priest and then a Marist.1

He fell deeply in love with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.1

In 1856 he founded the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament, devoted to adoration.

Patronage No official patronage we can cite yet. The Church remembers him as the Apostle of the Eucharist.

He worked to bring lapsed Catholics and poor workers back to the sacraments, and encouraged frequent Communion.1

Peter Julian lived for adoration. Stop into a church this week, even for five minutes on the way home, kneel in front of the tabernacle and talk to Jesus.
