In short: No. God is neither man nor woman; He’s pure spirit. We say Father because of how Jesus taught us to pray. CCC 239 CCC 370

Calling God “Father” says He is the origin of everything and that He cares for His children; His tenderness can also be shown by the image of motherhood. CCC 239

Our words

We say “Father” because Jesus taught us to, not because God has a gender. And Scripture isn’t shy about mother images either: a hen gathering her chicks, a mother who can’t forget her child.
