In short: The Church makes a bold claim: you can know with certainty that God exists, just by looking honestly at the world He made. CCC 36

The Church teaches that God, the first principle and last end of all things, “can be known with certainty from the created world by the natural light of human reason.” CCC 36

It also admits this isn’t easy: in our real situation many things make it hard to know God by reason alone. CCC 37

That’s a bold claim, and the Church makes it on purpose. Look honestly at a world that doesn’t explain itself, and ask what does.
